Work and Fun in the same post? IMPOSSIBLE!
But it isn’t impossible, and I’m happy to say that many people accomplish this seemingly unreachable goal every day! Many of you have followed me on my adventures and know that most of what I do is close enough to home that it probably wouldn’t actually be considered as an adventure. This time, I’m taking you 677 miles away from my house.
I started off flying to an airport in North Carolina. The view coming in was absolutely beautiful! I wish I could see everywhere from the skies like I did here. I was only there for about an hour, but that was long enough to know that I want to go back and see what else there is to offer.
I took a connecting flight to Virginia. I’ll be here for two weeks training for my job in the Navy.
When I arrived I wasn’t sure what to expect. I thought for sure that my experience would be like one of my nightmares where I would arrive and just completely mess everything up. I was worried for nothing. The people I’ve been working with this last week are amazing, and super helpful! Just goes to show that you really never know what’s going to happen until you try it.
Just Get Out There!
Something I did this week was to Google Search for “Free things to do in Virginia.” I was pleasantly surprised! I went down to Virginia Beach, walked the Boardwalk, saw a street circus, and heard a lot of aspiring artists showcase their talents. I drove over to Lynnhaven Mall and was shocked at how big it was!
I found out that Busch Gardens offers a pretty sweet deal for Military Members and I’m gonna try to get over there before I have to leave (details here), and I also want to check out Williamsburg. So many fun and free things to do and they are all able to be done in just a couple days! It got me thinking, “what have I been missing at home?” So, I also did a search for that (I’ll link a new article about those adventures once I get home and do them!).
Every Adventure has a lesson attached to it!
The trick is to learn from it. This adventure is only half over, and already I have taken something from it. Now more than ever, I know that finding everyday, ordinary adventures is what makes life great. I hope you stay with me, and share some of your own!
