Today I got the opportunity to attend the 38th annual Old Washington Street Festival.
Old Washington Street is a historic neighborhood in Muncie. The East Central Neighborhood association has hosted the event since 1967 to fund community activities and to help restore some of the old houses. I spoke with Liz McDonald, a volunteer from the association who was giving tours of the Emily Kimbrough house. “It’s very cool what they are doing here,” she said, “they are starting restorations on this house soon.”

From houses, to mums, to silk, to live music, and more, I was definitely happy to be a part of this piece of Muncie’s history. There were old pictures on booths, and friendly faces everywhere!

Even after meeting some wonderful people at the festival, my adventure for today only continued to get better. That, however, is another post for another time. Maybe later today, so check back here in a little while!
