I love this type of weather, it’s just cold enough that hot food is the only thing I want to eat (like chili). If you’ve never had chili before let me start off by apologizing because you are missing out, my friends. Next, you are all probably wondering what has prompted this seemingly random rant on this particular dish.
Today is the Annual Chili Cook-off at my church!
I am extremely excited because chili is one of my favorite meals and I get to taste multiple different dishes tonight. In the next month I am going to try to have every possible experience that I can. If that means doing something as seemingly uninteresting as going to a local cook-off, then by-golly I’m going to do it.
I also encourage you wonderful people reading this to find out if there are any cook-offs in your area. Any local bands playing? School plays? They may not seem important, especially if you don’t have any connection to them (siblings/children performing, etc.), but if you are just sitting at home doing nothing it is an experience you won’t get to have again.
Live Life to the Fullest!
Do anything and everything that you can, once you realize that you are going to be unable to partake in a tradition you have always looked forward too, you try to make up for the loss by doing other things.
This year my family and I are celebrating Thanksgiving before Halloween. YUP! Sounds a little strange, right?
I’m going to be at bootcamp during Thanksgiving and Christmas, so to make up for me not being here we are celebrating Thanksgiving in October and Christmas in November. It’s not about the day, it’s about the reason why we celebrate in the first place.
I’m just so thankful that all these opportunities are being laid out before me, and that my family supports me on the adventure of my life!
So go out and find your own adventure, even if you just grab a bowl of chili for the first time, at least you are doing something new.
Let me know what adventures you find yourself on, I want to share your adventure with you!!!
❤
